Monica Murillo has been a settlement worker for youth and families at The Spot since 2008.
Monica finished her degree in Interior Design in Ecuador at Equinoctial Technologic University and has a diploma in Study Office System Operation from Seneca College. Monica also received a certificate from York University in Refugee and Force Migration Issues. She has been a Board Member of Black Creek Community Health Centre for three terms, totalling nine years.
Murillo has over nine years of progressive related work experience and commitment in intake information and referral for adults, youth, women, men, seniors, and communities of various ethnic backgrounds and minorities. She enjoys interacting with newcomers as well as helping them transition and establish themselves in their new country.

Through the support services, we have been able to provide newcomers with resources and assistance with housing, education, training opportunities, social assistance, legal services youth programs, and volunteering opportunities."
